We Innovate
Shontay Lundy launched Black Girl Sunscreen in 2016 and is the only black-owned brand sold at two national retailers (Ulta and Target. And OMG Citrus County is getting a Target and we even have 3 gas stations now!!!).
As a licensed Esthetician, having a sunscreen that is specific for me is important. The usual sun protection, even from professional-grade companies, donβt do the hue of my skin any justice. So I switched to wearing scarves, jumbo hats, and protective/reflective sleeves (for kayaking) anytime I am outdoors no matter how hot it is. If I am outside for more than 15 minutes, I carry a 50 SPF, 72 in. shade umbrella. I may be radiant and full of sunshine but extended exposure is not for me. Itβs so groovy to have options!
