I keep talking about this verbally and needed to post it as a final entry to close out Women’s History month 2022.
It stands for Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair. It is still awaiting Senate review.
If it doesn’t pass, which it will, but if it doesn’t (IT WILL), I know it will be presented again. And again. And again, until it passes.
Although I don’t know how it will affect those who wear green mohawks, it will help me feel less pressured about changing my naturally kinky and coily hair to “fit-in.” Braids, cornrows, locs, twists, and afros are some of the protected styles under Act H.R.2116.
